According to a Savanta poll, local media has become a go-to source for pandemic-related news… and is perhaps, the perfect place to pitch and promote your company story. Often understaffed, journalists at these news outlets are increasingly interested in local workplace stories with one caveat…they must have a unique angle.
Can your workplace story add depth, hope, and encouragement to the current reportage?
????Do your homework: Research the publication, TV program, podcast or blog to see what workplace topics they’ve covered. Understanding their audience will help to ensure your story’s relevance.
????Good deeds: Has your company launched a charitable campaign? Is it working closely with struggling local businesses?
????Guiding force: Is your company leadership doing something truly unique to get the business through a challenging time?
????Employee action: As more companies switch to remote work, has your firm implemented new employee benefits (Think: mental health) or has it mobilized employees in some way to help the local community?
Do you have a unique workplace story to tell the local media?
