What Techniques Do You Use To Prep For Presentations Or Interviews?
If your CEO is looking for ongoing coverage in prestigious media outlets, it takes more than luck – you need a strategic approach to position you and your company in the most flattering light.
Yesterday, I wrote about my process for preparing CEOs and
C-suite execs for media interviews.
As noted, I like to have 2 interview planning meetings, scheduled a few days apart if possible. This provides time and space to consider our approach, complete research and compile talking points.
While the 1st meeting is more of a conversation and idea exchange about the publication/platform, the 2nd interview planning meeting, we will discuss:
Key Messages – primary statements the CEO should strive to communicate. I prepare these using
appropriate language that sounds conversational and natural
Wild card questions – best responses and techniques for steering the interview back to Key Messages
Repetition – being able to repeat key messages throughout an interview ensures that they will be in the final cut
