This brand lost 1.2 million followers by firing an employee.

A Sherwin-Williams part-timer created a personal TikTok account, amassing 1.2 million followers (!), reaching younger, potential new customers – who were also fascinated by the paint mixing process. He was fired for gross misconduct. Crazy, right?

Don’t forget that employees are your most natural brand ambassadors! Treat them well and reap the rewards.

Sharing my tips below:

📌Encourage employees to use and experiment with your products or services. Give them a free access, or offer big discounts.

📌Establish an inclusive environment where staffers have opportunities to see, try new products/services regularly. They’ll feel more invested in your brand and be inclined to spread the word to colleagues, friends, family.

📌Make staffers feel heard. Set up a platform where they can easily share honest feedback without fear. Guaranteed they will have great insights.

📌Provide guidelines to foster social media posting, including sample messaging
