Here’s My Advice For Working With A Marketing Communications Agency
Yesterday, our client, with our input decided to kick off the marketing campaign we developed on their behalf. During this call, the client mentioned something she hadn’t shared previously. Something that would definitely impact the media relations part of their program.
Although this “news” was not presented as such, because I was paying acute attention, I remarked on it and presented it as an opportunity. As a result, we immediately made some edits to our campaign messaging.
This common occurrence made me think about the years I was on the client side and the marketing agencies that stood out as true partners.
So, I offer this piece of advice – if you’re working with an outside marketing communications agency, be sure that they:
✅Have excellent listening skills – meaning, they listen to you but also have the ability to “read between the lines” for information
✅Are responsive and nimble so that when things change midstream, they can quickly adjust their plans
✅Have a resource network they can tap into for related expertise and services
Can you share a business scenario when you were nimble and took immediate action in decision making?
